About

I am an artist who also writes. I am the author of numerous books, including A Renaissance Redneck in a Mega-Church Pulpit, My Confession, Sex, Lies & Religion, and, most recently, The Quest: Discover a Way to Enjoy the Second Half of Life. I have a BA in Music from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I enjoyed a successful music and creative arts career for thirty years. I was the founder and chairman of the 501(c)3 non-profit Creative Community, Inc. from 2006-2021. From 1999 to 2017, I was the founder and CEO of re:Create Conferences in Franklin, TN—an annual international gathering of artists, creatives, and business leaders.

Since 1998, I have founded four companies, sold two, given away another, and worked with people as diverse as Michael Hyatt and Vicky Beeching. One of the most meaningful projects of my career is a live experience called The Quest: a rite of passage for the second half of life. I have expanded the ideas into a book available at your local or online bookstore

I love writing books, cooking gourmet food, drinking whiskey and rye, savoring new wines, and painting watercolors. I’m most passionate about encouraging others to be who they are. I’ve made a pretty cool video about it HERE. I have completed twenty-five marathons (yep, 26.2 miles each). And once had a bush plane drop me in the wilderness of Kodiak Island, Alaska, for a week in grizzly country with only a tent and a raft.
