5. 1984 – 1.5 oz Gin, .75 oz Cointreau, .25 oz fresh squeezed lemon and lime, .25 simple syrup, 3 dashes Angostura bitters. Shake w ice and serve on the rocks. A great summer cocktail.
4. Razercrac – Swift’s Attic in downtown Austin’s take on a Sazerac. Fun! 1.5 oz Vodka, .5 oz Sweet Vermouth, 2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters, rinse chilled glass with Absinthe, stir in shaker w ice and serve up.
3. California Ice Tea – .5 oz each of Rye, Vodka, Tequila, Gin, Triple Sec, tall glass w ice, add 2 oz grapefruit juice, fill remainder of glass with coke. I use diet coke so its not so sweet. Be careful with this one. It will put you on your butt fast.
2. The Almost Famous – 1.5 oz Gin, .5 oz Sweet Vermouth, .5 oz Green Chartreuse, 3 dashes Orange bitters. Shaker w ice and serve over ice. Another perfect summer drink.
1. The Final Say – My cocktail of choice this summer and maybe for all-time. Found this delectable and multi-layered drink at Peche in downtown Austin. Wow! 1 oz each of Rye Whiskey, Green Chartreuse, Luxardo Maraschino Liquer, fresh squeezed lime juice, 2 dashes Orange bitters. Shaker w ice and serve in chilled glass over ice. And that, my friends, is all I need to say.
