  1. Perfection! Love this, Randy.

  2. I love this! Makes me think of my travels. Bravo!

  3. I imagine this collection of “simple pleasures” on a make-shift table in the yard, under a beautiful old tree. Love how the the wine bottle has been opened. And is that a leather-bound journal resting under the violin (on the left side)?

Isn’t it fascinating how the most spiritual things exist in everyday life activities?

    Thank you for sharing this!

    • @Keith Jennings, Thanks, Keith. Yes, it is my prize leather Epica journal…in fact, every item has huge significance to my life.

The wine was given to us by a dear friend for our 30th wedding anniversary, 1979 was the year we were married–and it was the greatest bottle of wine of my life. Exquisite.

      I could go on…

  4. Hi Randy

This is great! One of my favourites of yours! I think you’ve got great depth in this.

I studied watercolour painting for a couple of years as part of art class. Landscapes where my thing but I did do some still, compositional stuff like this. I got pretty good actually but the love of music trashed my artistic side and I never make the time now.

In your work I think it would be great if you experimented with a bit less paint – just leaving the canvas blank where you want to highlight white elements or shinyness / sunlight – starting with what you’re not going to paint totally changes the way you paint. I think you’ll enjoy the different way of working. Just an idea :-)
