The Day Trump Finally Kept A Promise

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes, 21 seconds.
On 23 January 2016, presidential candidate Donald Trump caused controversy when he stated the following during a campaign rally in Iowa:

“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.”

With Kavanaugh poised to win confirmation to the Supreme Court this afternoon, the tow-headed and entitled kid that grew up in the comforting shadow of Lady Liberty has kept at least one promise. He grabbed our precious Lady Liberty by the pussy because she likes it (his words), dragged her to the looming shadow of Trump Tower on 5th Avenue and shot her. Today his promise (his threat) will most likely come true, and he was right—he will probably not lose his voters, his base.

Few people sound the alarm at the first shots on freedom. Centuries of liberty lead to an apathetic and affluent citizenry. It is true in America and it was true in Germany. Hitler was appointed Chancellor on 30 January 1933 after a series of parliamentary elections and associated backroom intrigues.

The apathy of the German people to Hitler’s growing attack on freedom and the repressive tactics of the early Nazi party is a chilling reminder how an ominous historical development was regarded with complacency, approval, and only intermittent concern from many of the citizens.

The appointment of Kavanaugh could very well be a fatal shot by Trump on everything Lady Liberty represents. Not because of the angry judge’s abusive past, nor because of his stand against abortion, and not because of his conservative views—but because of his expansive view of executive privilege and his partisan allegiance to Trump.

As Lady Liberty lies stripped, violated, and bleeding on 5th Avenue in the hulking shadow of Trump Tower, it’s worth noting that she was not assaulted by Crooked Hillary, Pocahontas, Crazy Bernie or Cheatin’ Obama.

We lost part of our freedom today because of a Treasonous and Unamerican President, and his Republican gang of cowards and enablers that include Lyin’ Ted, Liddle’ Bob Corker, Jeff Flakey, and Little Marco.

It’s also worth reiterating the gradual death of freedom occurred in Germany in an eerily similar way. Just as in today’s America, the influential thinkers, theologians, and leaders of Germany acquiesced and conceded more and more power to a racist and nationalistic white man endowed with a charismatic personality. And Catholic Pope Pius XII helped Hitler destroy German Catholic political opposition much like America’s evangelical leaders such as Falwell, Graham, and Jeffress.

As John Adams and our forefathers meticulously crafted the Constitution—our second President was dogmatic about one primary foundation of our Republic inspired by Cicero, the Roman statesman, orator, lawyer, and philosopher, who served as consul in the year 63 BC.

It was the priceless ideal of checks and balances in government. Adams compromised, debated, and yielded many aspects of the constitution as the forefathers crafted this iconic document. But one point upon which he would not compromise was Cicero’s principle of checks and balances.

As of this afternoon, if all goes well in this premeditated murder of freedom, we will have:

A Republican President
A Republican Senate
A Republican House of Representatives
A Republican Supreme Court

Historically, THIS IS A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY.

This MUST CHANGE.

I am well aware this would not be happening if the Democrats had not voted along strict party lines to change the rules of the Senate, deploying what had become known in Washington as “the nuclear option.”

And I am filled with disgust for both Republicans and Democrats.

But unfortunately, as of today these two pathetic political parties who continually ignore their constituents and regard power and money as their gods are all we have.

WE MUST HAVE CHECKS AND BALANCES.

We need a balance of power. We desperately need to elect a Democratic Senate and House of Representatives to balance the Republican President and Supreme Court next month at all costs.

Until 2016, I was a lifelong Republican, and I realize that many of my friends, family, and followers voted for Trump with the best of intentions—to send an outsider to shake up the Washington political elite and to represent their views.

Unfortunately, Trump has proven repeatedly, he cares for no one but himself. He is a tyrant. I implore my friends, family, and followers to swallow our Republican pride and vote DEMOCRAT on November 6, 2018.

If we do not, I fear with all my heart, Lady Liberty will soon draw her last breath. A funeral dirge will replace our national anthem. Freedom will die.

IT CAN HAPPEN HERE.

It happened in Germany, and it happened in Rome. It is happening in America. I never thought I would live to see something as horrific as the events of this past week. But then again, I never thought I would watch an American President pander to a thug like Putin on live television, and hear the leader of Russia, the country who interfered in our election brazenly admit, “Yes, I wanted Trump to win.”

We are apathetic and affluent. This must change. Consider this an alarm. Wake up.

WE MUST HAVE CHECKS AND BALANCES.

“The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

—James Madison (Our Fourth President)

VOTE FOR CHECKS AND BALANCES

VOTE DEMOCRAT ON NOVEMBER 6, 2018.
