My Confession of Sin

Father eternal, giver of light and grace,
I have sinned against you and against my neighbors,
in what I have thought, in what I have said and done,
through ignorance, through weakness, through my own deliberate fault.
I have wounded your love, and marred your image in me.
I am sorry and ashamed, and repent of all my sins.
For the sake of your son Jesus Christ, who died for me,
forgive me of all that is past, and lead me from darkness
to walk as a child of light. Amen.

  1. Randy, AWESOME prayer! What a great God we belong to and what grace He shows us everyday. “Your mercies are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness”

  2. Randy,

Thanks for this. This beautiful painting. This powerful prayer. This timely reminder. Confession is such a gift. A gift that tends to be forgotten. And yet something we benefit from greatly by doing often; placing our hearts in a posture of humility and opening us to His mercy and grace. His mercies are, indeed, new every morning.

  3. Beautiful prayer, Randy. I love how simple and direct it is. Thanks.

  4. Hi. Thanks so much for sharing this. I am adding this to my list of personal prayers.

  5. Randy, Beautiful! I prayed it after I read it. That’s one I can pray often.
